SUMMARY OF ORCHOS TZADDIKIM SHA’AR HASIMCHA DAY ONE-THREE

Day One

  • שמחה comes from a person being content without any problems and having all that they desire.
  • Someone with שמחה will be physically and emotionally healthy.
  • שמחה has a danger of leading to frivolous laughter and light headedness.
  • One should avoid settings and relationships with people who are constantly joking and not taking life seriously.

Day Two

  • It’s improper to be happy when seeing others have misfortunes.
  • Worse than this, is to be happy when seeing others fall short in their avodas Hashem.
  • One who cares about what Hashem wants, should be pained to see others (even one’s enemy), do the wrong thing.
  • One should daven for ALL of Klall Yisrael to be doing the right thing.

Day Three

  • It’s very wrong to laugh and make fun of those who are exact in mitzvos
    • They way a person talks, makes an influence on how they think
    • It could stop the person from continuing to do the right thing.
    • It could deter others as well from eventually doing the right thing.
    • It shows that he doesn’t care about Hashem’s honor, that people should be exact in fulfilling His mitzvos.
