ORCHOS TZADDIKIM SHA’AR HASIMCHA DAY THIRTEEN

LEARNING FOR TUESDAY MARCH 24th ORCHOS TZADDIKIM SHA’AR HASIMCHA DAY THIRTEEN FROM וצריך שיבטח בשם יתברך UNTIL כי אם עבדי

An behold, all the things that one trusts in Hashem can be broken down into 8 categories.
The first one is the body. The second is one’s livelihood. The third is one’s wife. The fourth is the obligation of the minds and the limbs with regards to one’s own gain and loss. The fifth is is duties of the limbs with regards to other’s gain and loss. The sixth is the reward of this world. The seventh is the reward of the world to come, which is hidden for the tzaddikim. The eighth is the reward for the days of Mashiach.
The first trust is the body of a person. It is, that he must surrender himself and give himself over to the great mercy of Hashem, and that he should know that he has no plan or action that will succeed without His permission and with His decree.
And even though one’s health and longevity is dependent on Hashem, never the less, one should but in the necessary effort to to take care of oneself and one’s health. And they should trust in God that He will heal him, and that the doctor and the healing comes from the decree of Hashem, and he should only rely upon Hashem, who’s the One who has the capability.
And a person shouldn’t say “Being that everything depends on the decree of Hashem, I’ll do things that are dangerous and drink poison. “
Behold we find that Shmuel said, “How can I go to Shaul, but he will hear and kill me” And never the less, this wasn’t considered to be lacking in trust in Hashem. As we find that Hashem answered him, to take a cow with him.
And one who places himself in danger and says I will trust in Hashem, about him the verse says, “And a fool passes through and trusts”. And the Torah commands us against this by saysing “Do not test Hashem”. And one who places his life in danger and causes himself to die, receives a punishment that is greater than that of one who kills himself (chas veshalom)
