ORCHOS TZADDIKIM SHA’AR HASIMCHA DAY FOURTEEN

LEARNING FOR WEDNESDAY MARCH 25th ORCHOS TZADDIKIM SHA’AR HASIMCHA DAY FOURTEEN FROM הבטחון השני UNTIL לפנות לבו לאלקים

The second trust is with regards to one’s sustenance, that one should trust in Hashem that He will provide for him all that he needs, and the amount of food that he needs. And one shouldn’t chase after material pursuits (out of unnecessary concern about one’s parnasah), which distracts a person from involving themselves with Torah.
And when a person trusts in God, they will find themselves calm and content, and won’t chase after more than what they need. Rather, it will be enough for them to spend the time they set aside for parnasah, and the remaining time, they will put efforts towards acquiring life in the World to Come.
And similarly they (the Rabbis) said, “Increase in Yeshiva (i.e. learning Torah) and minimize one’s involvement with business. Make the words of Torah primary, and your business secondary.
And this concept, is a big test for a person, that the many tirdos (involvements) of this world, shouldn’t distract the person and cause him to forget about his end.
Therefore, a person should trust in God that He will take care of his needs, and his free time will be able to be used to turn his heart towards God.
